Wardrobe Remix at Flickr

Oh how flickr never ceases to amaze me. Whether I am looking for chicken pictures to decorate for my boss's birthday or searching for images of that perfect Nike Air low top to show my brother.

This weekend I stumbled upon the Wardrobe Remix group. Wardrobe_remix was created by Tricia Royal in September of 2005. Tricia also writes the blog: Bits and Bobbins.
wardrobe_remix is a DO IT YOURSELF street fashion community.

i believe the best stylists walk the streets, not the photo sets, nor the backstage of the runways. the real innovators are you and me: real, fashionable people, men and women alike.

how do *you* put it together? where did you get that item of clothing from? is there a story behind something you wear? a reason why you wear specific styles or types of clothing, or a particular item all the time?

whatever you wear, wherever it's source (designer, mass-market/high street, thrift/charity, handmade--it's ALL good): show us how you CREATIVELY put your everyday duds together

I love this group and check it out daily to see the daily fashion inspirations of people who love clothes.

The Hidden Treasures of Forever 21

I am a sucker for the latest trend, yet it is a hard habit to have considering how expensive fashion is. This is where Forever 21 saves the day. These stores have mounds and mounds of clothing both very good and horribly bad. Sure, one does have to hone their digging skills to find the hidden treasure in some of these stores but when you do, it will probably be no more than $25. How can you beat that?

Much to my chagrin, Cameron pulls another fabu outfit off. The salmon peach dress fits her so well and I cannot get enough of pocket dresses these days. Also, the softer caramel colored hair offsets the harshness that her face can have sometimes. Finally, the metallic shoes play off hercutesie dress and really pop against her tan.

Shoe Me Shoe Me Shoe Me

Okay, I am a sucker for any kind of free shipping. But when I heard the ridiculously absurd claim that Zappo's offers free OVER NIGHT shipping, I had to check it out for myself. After witnessing this amazing feat demonstrated by prompt delivery of strappy sandals to two of my co-workers, I still felt that a personal test run was in order.
Hm. These Finch sandals by Kate Spade are the perfect test pair.

Street Sense May Have Won but Fashion Sense Lost

I realize that the grand tradition of the Kentucky Derby requires all female attendees to sport over the top antiquated wide brimmed hats and flouncy Lily Pulitzer-esque dresses, yet I cannot help but smirk at all of the pictures I have seen since. I have yet to see any starlet or to put it more realistically C-List celeb able to look remotely un-costumey at this event.

Need I say more?
