Wedding Week Whirlwind
We had a whirlwind of a wedding week as well. My mom and I spent most of the week going from appointment to appointment downtown, we met with florists, cake vendors, and stationers. M and I decided to postpone our engagement session as the weather was so not enjoyable on Tuesday (rain and cold) so we'll probably end up doing them in the Spring.
I have many stories to tell and I cannot wait to talk about the fabulous vendors we met with this week but that will all have to wait until I head back to Boston. I'm off to enjoy the last few hours in Chicago with Mamacita!

Long Distance Wedding Planning
Planning a wedding in a different city than the one that you live in is rather challenging. It adds in additional layer of complexity to an already elaborate process. I know I'm not the first bride-to-be attempting this and I won't be the last. M and I do not get back to Chicago as often as I would like to so we've had to pack our schedules when we do get back to visit the family.
We'll be back to visit for the entire week of Thanksgiving. Therefore, while I'd rather be cooking with my mom, talking with my dad, laughing with my brothers, and playing with my nephew - M and I will be on a wedding planning whirlwind.
So far we have our engagement shoot scheduled for Tuesday (fingers crossed the weather holds out). Three florist and design appointments for Wednesday. Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday (of course). And three cake tastings topping off the week on Friday. Fortunately I've managed to convince my fam to join me on some if not all of the appointments so it will be a family filled busy week.
How have you other long-distance brides planned the wedding in between visits with family and friends?

Location Envy
SourceBut every once in a while (re: everyday) I secretly envy the lucky ladies going a bit more rustic.

Haute Couture Me
I have made the drive between Chicago and Boston several times in the past few years mostly during school breaks. But this is the first time that it is for real. For serious. If you will. I am officially moving to Boston after two amazing years in Chicago it is time to do this. Aside from having an apartment with the boy for the past month and recently getting the job of my dream...it has not felt real until this point. So while sitting in a hotel room with my mom (she rocks and agreed to drive with me) in Syracuse I am kind of in a weird limbo zone. So I apologize for not updating as frequently as I normally do over the next few days as I/we get settled. XO.

Beach Bag Steal
Love this bag for the beachy weather that has arrived in the windy city. I found it while perusing Target this afternoon. It is beyond oversized and can easily fit a large beach blanket, snacks, cover ups, sunscreen, books, and everything else you will need on a Saturday morning beach trip.

Only in Chicago would 50 Degrees Feel like Summer
occurrence as I normally cannot even summon a smirk until I have an extra hot soy latte from Starbucks (how cliche??).
