Under $101: Best Friend's Birthday Party

So next week is my best friend's birthday party and we will be celebrating with a fun dinner with all our girls. I wanted to pick out a new and funky outfit for this occasion as it will be one of the last get togethers before I move to Boston. My quest for a party outfit under $101 is below!

Rocker Girl Necklace
$4.99

Wide Patent Waist Belt
$4.99

Lux Floral Deep V Kimono Dress
$19.99

Finished off with a pop of yellow and now I'm in business for just $84.95 courtesy of Urban Outfitters!

How To Not Wear Wide Leg Jeans

As I have admitted before I am slightly interested in the idea of a wide leg jean. I think they can look really chic when they are high waisted and dark with a platform heel. Yet, I am not a fan of the looks here; these jeans remind me of the ones I wore in jr. high. They are too reminiscent of the bell bottom low riding jeans of the past.

Kate Moss for Top Shop Sale

After a much buzzed about launch, the frenzy over Kate Moss for Top Shop petered out quickly. I was not really thrilled by any of the pieces in the collection especially for the asking price. But now Barney's has slashed prices on most of the collection.

To Boot or Not to Boot.

I want these. I have been looking for some tall motorcycle-ish boots for this fall/winter. To pair with grey knit tights and sweater dresses. Mmm.

Still I do not know if I can justify spending this much on Steve Maddens. Thoughts?

Please Forgive Me!

Oh has this been crazy week. My apologies for being so neglectful. Not only did I give my two weeks notice at work this week but I also flew out to Boston to interview for a fabu job. We will have to see how that goes but in the meantime the wheels are really in motion. I am actually doing it!
Still I wanted to post this picture of newly wed Rebecca Romjin in this drool worthy LBD. I promise to be better this week.

Fall 2007: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I adore the Fall collection by MJ. I wasn't so fanatic about the SS07 feat but this one is truly drool worthy in my opinion. Cheeky in a British Primrose sort of sense and I cannot get over the tights. Love it.

Chic Couple Alert: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr

SMG and Freddie were such a hot couple in all the teeny flicks of our growing up years. Yet unlike other teeny bopper stars, they managed to evolve into fabulously fashionable and classic adults. Although their acting careers may not have flourished, they sure do look tres chic together in off setting midnight blue and black, complimenting each other's look without being to matchy matchy.

True Turn for the Worse Skinny Pants

Rbils was out and about in (gasp) wide leg jeans over the weekend. The queen of skinny jeans may have jumped ship.

Fall Collection 2007: Patently Perfect

I have been a patent girl since my tiny black patent Mary Janes that my mom used to dress me in when I was little. Since then my patent purchases have taken a slightly edgier feel and are rarely paired with ruffly white ankle socks. Much like this entire year, the patent trend will be big in Fall 2007. If only I could give in to my long lasting addiction.

Fall Collection 2007: Net-A-Porter Fast Forward to Fall

Net-A-Porter has compiled a Must Have list for Fall Fashion. I am absolutely in love with most items mentioned. Especially the black biker boot and chunky gray knits. Still I have found a few more drool worthy outfits that I would kill to flaunt for Fall 2007.

A gorgeous Phillip Lim dress in a great silhouette for day. Shown here with Christian Louboutin boot shoes and a Jimmy Choo tote

A modern take on a classic chic style. Wear tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt for maximum effect. Shown here with a Tibi skirt, a Sonia by Sonia Rykiel cardigan, a Luella tote, Pedro Garcia shoes and a Fendi cuff

Fabu vs. Faboo Looks of the Day

I think that this post truly shows that you do not need a red carpet or a fancy
dress to look fabulous. In fact, Hayden Whatsherface looks as though she
is wearing a bad gothic prom dress while rocking the red carpet. My fave
Rbils looks casual chic as usual while running errands.

Boo on Libertine for Target

As I expected I was slightly put off by the Libertine for Target collection, as I have been by the majority of the GO Designer Collections. (The one exception being Proenza Schouler, only because I scored one of their trademark silk bustiers which I live for). I seriously am slightly disheartened by the fact that many of these designers cannot translate their fabu designs to the masses. Another exception to the rule was Stella McCartney for H&M which was absolutely fantastic and well worth the mayhem that ensued upon release.

My only find was the Libertine Embroidered Duffle ($39.99) which is cheekily marked with whales and skulls (a recurrent theme) yet only really works on this fun weekender.

Fashion-ossip Tid Bit

According to Perez Hilton, Gwent Stefani is suing Forever 21 for copyright infringement on her Harajuku and L.A.M.B. clothing lines. This is just one in a recent on slaught of similar claims against Forever 21.

**Update: Shop Diary has a link to the complaint as well as several other examples of copyright infringement from Wet Seal and Aeropostale.

Fabu vs Faboo Looks of the Day

Two dangerously skinny fashionistas rock their bones in distinctly different ways. MK actually looks adorable in her mini with the python belt wrapped around her ever dwindling waist. Rachel Zoe, reknowned celeb stylist and rumor mill, opts for the too large granny look and honestly it just looks like a little girl playing dress up.
